History Of CSC Group

Founded by Mr. Cheng Sing Cheong in 1945 as a cottage industry in Singapore. Hand made boxes with simple tools and starch, provider of packaging for confectionery (moon cake), footwear , fashion & etc.

In the 50¡¯s - we catered for more market demand for sophisticated product like cosmetic, gifts, stationery, files/binders, book covers & slipcases.

In the 60¡¯s - we installed the 1st German made Auto Hot-Stamping machine in South East Asia.

1965 - Established the 1st factory in Tanglin Halt to make jewel boxes & pen boxes.

In the 70¡¯s - 1972 we moved from Tanglin Halt to Jurong & installed the 1st Polar EMC (Electronics Memory Cutter) machine in Singapore.

Bullet Containers to Chartered Industries
Rigid boxes & ring binders to Hewlett Packard

In the 80¡¯s - 1983 established 2nd factory in Jurong with a full range of printing & box making equipment.

In 1987 founded Harleigh in Johor Bahru with LMW license . CSC moved majority of the handwork assembly to Malaysia.

We began to supply boxes to Parker Pen worldwide & also to our major clients such as Minolta, Canon, Nikon, Sanyo Radio, GE Consumers, Phillips, Tiger Balm, Glaxo SmithKline (formerly BeeCham), SIA, Batey Ads, Martell, etc¡­

In 1989 founded Shin-Nippon in Johor Bahru, a partnership with Japanese wine importer - IWA Group.

In the 90¡¯s - 1992 we took over 100% ownership of Shin-Nippon & moved 50% of the box making facilities from CSC to Malaysia.

In 1994 - installed the 1st Roland 700 series printing press (5 colour plus inline coating) in Singapore.

In 1995 - moved 80% of the box making & printing facilities from CSC to Malaysia.

In 1995 - joint venture with Memory Lane in Kuala Lumpur.

In 1995 - established Shin-Nippon KL plant to produce stationery & greeting cards for American Greetings in the region.

In 1999 - we upgraded converting equipment in Malaysia plants.

In 2000 - we acquired technical assistance with Rengo Co, Ltd - a leading Japanese printing & packaging company by signing a five year contract. To improve our workflow & quality.

In 2005 - installed the first Komori 8 colour plus online UV printing press in malaysia.

In 2007 - installed the first latest technology of Komori 6 colour plus online UV printing press in South East Asia. The press equipped with PDC-SII (Print Density Control - Spectrodensitometer - enables numeric control for color matching, a major step toward printing standardization).
